Does earning a degree in biology count as earning one's beard? One could make the argument that he earned a degree in biology, SO THAT he could learn how a living creature like his beard could grow. Because after all, biology is the study of living things.
If so, I for one would like to see some proof. Proof that he had no beard until the day he earned his degree in biology. (his beardless picture holding up his degree in a graduation gown)
This would be proof that he respected the institution of beard so much, that he waited to learn about the growth of living things, before officially growing his own beard with the scrutiny and tenderness of a biology scholar. Because if he grew his beard before or during his studies, he would be just a beard tourist, and wouldnt have actually earned his beard knowwumsayin.
